Evangelist Vanessa Smith-Rankins was born to R.B and Janet Smith in the small town of Dumas Arkansas and is the second born of 11 children.

Vanessa’s formative years were spent on a farm in rural Arkansas with her grandparents Dave and Mae Frances Campbell. Vanessa moved to Chicago at age 13 where her parents and 8 other siblings resided. Currently Vanessa and her husband Jerry have 5 children together and reside in Maywood, Illinois.

Church in general has always been a part of Vanessa’s life as her grandfather was Sunday School Superintendent. Vanessa was 12 years old when she accepted the Lord as personal savior and was baptized with the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1990. Vanessa was ordained as an Evangelist in 1993 under the Church of God in Christ and has been active ever since, holding various positions (Choir Leader, YPWW leader, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary, Women Ministry Leader, Board of Directors, Outreach Director and Pastoral Administrator). She teaches the Word of God with much joy whenever the opportunity arises. She is currently an active member and Evangelist of God’s Heritage Full Gospel Ministries under the leadership of Pastor James C. Williams, Sr. in Maywood, Illinois.

One of Vanessa’s favorite scriptures is Psalms 116:12 – “What shall I render unto God for all your benefits towards me”. Vanessa has a fervent passion for “giving back” – especially praise unto God. For this reason, she entered the real estate business as a catalyst for working with people who wanted to achieve homeownership but was uninformed and unacquainted with the whole process.

Vanessa has formed great alliances with the leadership in her community. Her objective is to educate, inform, teach, and preach the kingdom of God. She endeavors to be ready to always give an answer to every man that asks her a reason of the hope that is in her with meekness and fear.

1 Peter 4:11 is to speak, as the oracles of God; minister, as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever.
