“Scripture is full of admonitions to separate ourselves from people who act in destructive ways. Examples: Mathew 18:15-17 & 1 Cor 5:9-12. We are not being unloving. Separating ourselves protects love because we are taking a stand against things that destroy love.” — Dr. H. Cloud & Dr. John Townsend

Psalms 16:7-8 (AMP)
7 I will bless the LORD who has counseled me;
Indeed, my heart (mind) instructs me in the night.
8 I have set the LORD continually before me;
Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
People with boundary problems usually have distorted attitudes about responsibility. They feel that to hold people responsible for their feelings, choices & behaviors is mean. However, Proverbs repeatedly says that setting limits & accepting responsibility will save lives. (Proverbs 13:18 & 24)
