African Zonal Director for AFCM
AFCM International Training Center (AFCMITC)
Jennie Roberts graduated from Rhema Bible Training Centre Perth in 1984 and soon after became a missionary to Sri-Lanka. Two years later the Lord called her to Kenya with her two children. With a burning passion for missions and a vision to reach the rural areas, she heads up the Board of directors for Disciples of Mercy, Kenya and is the African Zonal Director for AFCM.
Disciples of Mercy or DOM, is a non-government organization based in Wathorego, a village just outside of Kisumu, Kenya. It has been in operation in Kenya since 1987 with its main emphasis to the destitute people in the rural areas of Kenya. Outreaches include a church, educational & training programs, a medical health center, a prison ministry among others.
Disciples of Mercy Prison Ministry
With over 50,000 inmates in the Kenyan correctional facilities, DOM has a dynamic ministry reaching out to this restricted access mission field. DOM’s prison ministry reaches both prisoners and officers in several prisons through regular gospel campaigns, sports and medical programs.
We also offer Bible School Training done in partnership with Association of Faith Churches and Ministers (AFCM). AFCMITC’s purpose is to equip the saints for their part of the work of the ministry, to teach them how to live victorious lives from God’s Word, and to inspire the fulfilment of the Great Commission.
Through this outreach we see hundreds saved, discipled & trained for ministry both within prison and upon their release. Our reintegration initiative offers support to ex-prisoners and we envision a half-way-home in the near future to give them a new start in life.
