Hebrews 12:1-2 (AMP)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight & the sin which so easily & cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance & active persistence the race that is set before us, 2 [looking away from all that will distract us &] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author & Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief & the One who brings our faith to maturity], . . .

10 Therefore, believers, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling & choosing you [be sure that your behavior reflects & confirms your relationship with God]; for by [a]doing these things [actively developing these virtues], you will never stumble [in your spiritual growth & will live a life that leads others away from sin];
